BD PosiFlush™ Externally Sterile (XS) Saline Flush Syringe

Just peel and present

Safer, Easier, Faster– BDPosiFlush™

BD PosiFlush™ Externally Sterile (XS) Saline Flush Syringe is terminally sterilised in its peel pouch, enabling it to be aseptically presented to a sterile field. Typically used in oncology, interventional radiology and critical care, the syringe supports applications such as PICC or CVC insertions. It is intended to be used only for the flushing of indwelling vascular access devices. Impact to solution contamination
The product is designed to prevent solution from entering a nonsterile area of the syringe, helping reduce the risk of solution contamination. Impact to catheter dwell time
A failed IV catheter means pain, dissatisfaction, prolongation of care and venous depletion, compounded by the need to treat minor and severe IV catheter failure-related sequelae. Reduced medication errors
The syringe supports efforts to reduce the risk of medication errors by meeting Joint Commission and ISMP medication labelling guidelines. Internal and external sterilization
The syringe is externally sterilised to support sterile field applications. It features a sterile fluid pathway. BD PosiFlushTM Syringes, filled with Saline, provide a fully integrated system designed to satisfy all your flushing needs, which include:
  • • sterile contents and fluid pathways.
  • • terminal sterilization for greater Sterility Assurance Levels than aseptic filling.
  • • a 2 year shelf life.
  • • a single product to simplify purchasing and administration.
  • • latex-free saline syringes.
All BD PosiFlush™ Syringes:
  • • have a 10 ml diameter for lower injection pressure1, increased patient safety and are designed to comply with PICC manufacturer instructions.
  • • minimize blood reflux that can be associated with flushing when using a standard syringe.
NOTE: Plunger Reflux occurs during a flush procedure when the rubber plunger rod stopper meets the end of the syringe. Because it is rubber, it will compress then rebound, creating a vacuum that draws blood back into the catheter.
